St Joseph's School PTA

We bring staff and families together to make our children’s time at primary school as rewarding as possible.

Who are the PTA?

The PTA has an important role of bringing together the school community and raising funds to provide additional resources and equipment that add to the experiences of the children. We work closely with the school and children to fundraise for the 'extras' that are not covered by the school budget.

Our PTA have raised thousands of pounds over the years to provide laptops, outdoor equipment, astroturf and specialist music programmes. in addition, the PTA play a key part in supporting events such as the Holy Communion and year 6 leavers celebrations.

All parents and carers are automatically members of our PTA once their child joins the school. The PTA is a registered charity and runs in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Charity Commission, and the structure set out in our constitution.

The Committee

The PTA is run by a committee consisting of four officers:

  • Co-Chairs- Claire Galbraith & Katie Robson

  • Treasurer - Alison Pearson

  • Secretary - Helen Woods

Along with the officers, there are lots of opportunities to get involved with the commitee. We hold meetings every half term to plan and discuss ideas to fundraise and bring the school community together. We would love to see lots of new parents at our meetings and getting involved. This could simply mean supervising a stall, providing raffle prizes, cash matching or running one of our big events.

Our first meeting for the 2023/2024 term will be held on 19th September at 7:30 pm in the School Hall. This will also be the AGM for year where we elect our committee, discuss plans and talk about the previous year. We would love to see you there!

Dates for the diary

Across the year the PTA works to deliver a variety of events to both fundraise and bring together the school community. In previous years, plans have included Bingo, Quiz nights, Christmas and summer fairs, second-hand uniform sales, supporting the Holy Communion celebrations and supporting the year 6 leavers programme of activity.
